What should we do about the rule of law in the Western Balkans in 2020?

Politikon Network (PIN) is pleased to invite you to a panel discussion:

“What should we do about the rule of law in the Western Balkans in 2020?”

Wednesday, November 20, 2019, PR centar, Josipa Broza Tita 23a, 11h, Podgorica

where we will discuss the necessary steps to strengthen the rule of law in the Western Balkans:

Are the changes from within possible?

How citizens and civil society can be more effective?

Are political elites in power interested in the rule of law if membership in the European Union (EU) is not certain? Is there an alternative to the EU accession? Sectorial/horizontal integration: in which way it could affect the rule of law?

What does postponing of the accession negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia mean for the rule of law in the region?

What can be expected from the new EU-level methodology for the Western Balkans?

are just some of the issues that will be discussed at the event we are organizing as part of the “Rule of Law in the Western Balkans: Reinventing the Rules of the Game” project. The project is supported by the European Fund for the Balkans (EFB), which is being implemented by Politikon Network in cooperation with CRTA from Serbia and the Tim Institute from North Macedonia.
